概要

Exploiting energy-recovery linac (ERL) technology, an intense electron beam can be brought into collisions with a hadron beam from the High-Luminosity LHC, concurrently with the hadron-hadron collisions. The expected very high ep luminosity at 1.2 TeV of the center-mass-energy opens a vast and unique research field, on top of exciting studies of the eA collisions. In this talk I will review the status of LHeC developments, the layout of a new ep/pp general purpose detector at IP2 and discuss shortly its physics scope. I will also shortly report on the PERLE project – the ERL demonstrator for the LHeC, as well as on the FCC-eh concept and the EIC project.
