Physics Seminar: Search for sub-millicharged particles at J-PARC

Quantization of electric charge is a long-standing question in physics. The possibility that the dark sector may have a complex structure as the SM has drawn more attention, and some well-motivated dark-sector models have been proposed to predict the existence of millicharged particles. In this presentation, an experiment proposed to search for millicharged particles produced at the 30 GeV proton-target collisions at J-PARC is discussed. The experiment can probe sub-millicharge regime that has not been explored by previous searches.
