The KEK Communication Plaza, located on the KEK Tsukuba Campus (1-1 Oho, Tsukuba, Ibaraki), is a permanent exhibit where you can learn about how accelerators work and elementary particles, observe cosmic rays, and measure radiation in everyday objects yourself.
Currently, the plaza is open daily except for the New Year and mid-summer holidays. However, we will be closed on Sundays from April 2025 onwards based on usage. We will also be open on Sundays during the summer vacation period (July 20 to August 31), except when it will be closed due to a planned power outage (this year, August 3).
Opening hours will remain the same, from 9:30am to 4:30pm. No admission fee and no need for reservations.
