Lab Tour
KEK Tsukuba campus welcomes visitors with free guided tours under the following conditions:
- On weekdays from 9:30AM to 5:00PM
- Group(s) of 10 or more people
- Takes 60 min/a major facility – 120 min/two major facilities.
A typical guided tour visits two major research facilities on the Tsukuba campus. Please see below for brief information about the facilities you can visit.

One is KEK’s B-Factory (Super KEKB accelerator and Belle II detector), which explores new physics phenomena that may hold the keys to solving the mysteries of the universe.

Another is the Photon Factory, where researchers investigate the structure of materials using brilliant light known as synchrotron radiation produced by our accelerator.

Before visiting both laboratories, you will watch the video introducing KEK. The tour lasts about 90 minutes. If you want to tour the Katsura Fudosan KEK Communication Plaza, it will take 30 more minutes.
