Overview

Computer simulations play a key role in particle accelerator beam physics study. With the advance of high performance computers, multiple physics models can be included in the beam physics simulation. In this talk, I will discuss self-consistent simulation of the beam-beam effect, the space-charge effect, coherent synchrotron radiation, and wakefields on massive parallel computers. I will introduce the numerical methods and computer hardware used in the simulation. Several accelerator beam physics applications will be presented.
