Overview

The MEG II experiment started physics data collection in 2021 to search for the lepton-flavor-violating decay μ→eγ. The initial dataset is ten times smaller than the full dataset of MEG but yields a comparable sensitivity. We have reported the results of the analysis of this dataset as well as one combined with MEG, setting the most stringent limit to date B(μ→eγ) < 3.1 × 10−13 (90% C.L.), in October 2023 (https://doi.org/10.48550/arXiv.2310.12614). In this seminar, the details of the analysis will be presented and prospects will be discussed.
