Overview

Radio Frequency System on Chip (RFSoC) is an innovative platform developed by AMD/Xilinx, inspired by the demanding requirements of 5G broadband cellular technology. While originally designed for 5G, RFSoC’s general capabilities make it an appealing solution for high-energy physics applications. This presentation highlights the potential of RFSoC in high energy physics applications, specifically focusing on its suitability as a high-speed, multi-GSample/s digitizer for SuperKEKB accelerator monitoring and the Belle-II upgrade. SLAC provides an open source firmware/software libraries to enable users to effectively explore and harness the potential of RFSoC technology, facilitating the rapid development and deployment of RFSoC-based solutions in high energy physics research and other domains.
