    Job Description

    Institute of Particle and Nuclear Studies is seeking to fill one Assistant Professor position with tenure. The successful candidate will belong to the Instrumentation Technology Development Center (ITDC) and will play a leading role in the development of next-generation electronics promoted by the Center. The candidate is expected to proactively engage in one or more of the following frontiers: development of ASICs and Monolithic Active Pixel Sensors (MAPS) for current and future particle and nuclear physics experiments; development of ASICs operable in cryogenic environments for future quantum technology applications; and research and development of AI-based automated design and optimization techniques for ASICs. Through these activities, the appointee will support international particle and nuclear physics experiments from a technological perspective and promote the societal implementation of the developed technologies. The workplace is the Tsukuba campus. (In principle, there will be no changes to job description or work location.)
