KEK Code of Conduct

In carrying out our research activities*1 as an Inter-University Research Institution open to Domestic and
International collaborators, KEK has established the following Code of Conduct to be shared not only by the staff of KEK, but also by all persons associated with KEK (“we” in the following text).

Compliance with the Code of Conduct is essential to ensure a high quality of scientific output and to earn the trust and respect of society.

  • Integrity
    We contribute to the advancement of science with integrity. We comply with established rules and conduct ourselves with the highest ethical standards. We also strive to act in a trustworthy and transparent manner.
  • Diversity, Equity and Inclusion
    We take action to create a work environment where diverse people are welcome, receive reasonable
    accommodation according to their circumstances, and can fully demonstrate their abilities. We also respect KEK’s basic policy*2 regarding DE&I.
  • Professionalism
    We act with professionalism and strive to improve and share our expertise.
  • Safety and Health
    We act with safety as our top priority. We also ensure that a healthy work environment is maintained and that physical and mental health is protected.
  • Fostering the Next Generation
    We focus on fostering the next generation and pass on knowledge and skills from generation to generation.
  • Contribution to Society
    We build a relationship of trust through a two-way dialogue with society. We also contribute to solving global issues through various KEK activities.
