概要

Over the last years, an active development group has been working on the features and mechanics of a new major EPICS release that will be available this fall: EPICS 7.
The EPICS 3.15 and 3.16 release series have seen many small evolutionary steps and internal improvements, while in parallel a new representation layer for structured data and a new network protocol have been developed, named EPICS V4. This year, EPICS V3 and V4 are being merged to form EPICS 7. At the same time, a new generation of tools appeared, integrating the new protocol and starting to exploit its advanced features. Hands-on demonstration will be provided as well.
