概要

I will give an overview of the current transverse and longitudinal beam profile systems presently installed in the Large Hadron Collider (LHC), as well as the status of studies for future machines such as the Compact Linear Collider (CLIC) and the International Linear Collider (ILC). For the LHC, beam profiles are obtained either from wire scanners or from the analysis of the synchrotron radiation produced by an undulator or dipole, depending on the beam energy. The present setup as well as the latest results from 2016 fills will be presented. For future linear colliders such as CLIC or the ILC, the challenge of measuring small (sub-micron) or short (sub ps) transverse/longitudinal profiles on intense beams triggered a number of R&D studies carr ied out either in the Clic Test Facility at CERN or at the Accelerator Test Facility at KEK. The present status and latest results of such studies will be presented.
