概要
A linac based compact THz-FEL facility has been built in Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Wuhan, China. The first beam has been observed last year and now we are preparing for radiation. In the presentation, overview of the project and challenges and efforts related to the compactness demand of the linac will be introduced. Beam dynamics simulation and some diagnostic results will be given to show the performance of the linac. Specifically, rigorous analysis of beam loading effect due to the long bunch tail will be discussed. Conceptual design results of a RF chopper to kick the beam tail will also be introduced.
