Job Description
Structural Biology Research Center (SBRC) at Institute of Materials Structure Science (IMSS) calls for applications to a postdoctoral position for structural biology under a 5-year specially promoted research project KAKENHI grant for the "Biology of sugar alcohol phosphate modification" (FY2019-2023, Reader: Dr. Tamao Endo at Tokyo Metropolitan Institute of Gerontology). Possible research topics are structural biology related to the research project. The person is expected engage in life science research through expression, purification, crystallization, X-ray diffraction experiments, structural analysis and other techniques (biochemistry, solution scattering, electron microscopy, and so on), focusing on proteins related to carbohydrates and their complexes.
Qualification
A person who has knowledges and experiences in the research area and ability to conduct research and education. Holding (or expected to acquire) a doctoral degree is mandatory.
