J-PARC PN seminar (Dr.Christopher Haddock )
Abstract
Low energy neutrons have emerged as an effective tool in precision measurements of fundamental physical processes and can thus be used as a sensitive probe for new physics beyond the Standard Model. I will describe experiments which utilize low energy neutron beams at facilities in the US and Japan to make cutting edge precision measurements in hopes to discover, or definitively declare the absence of, new possible physics in the um to nm length scale.
