Current Activities and New Trend of Thermo-Nuclear Fusion in the World

A broad and timely survey of present world-wide efforts dedicated to thermonuclear fusion will be updated as follows:

-Magnetic Fusion Energy (MFE) will be highlighted through the planetary project approach ITER-Tokamak altogether with its Wendelstein-Stellarator counterpart.

-Inertial Confinement Fusion (ICF) will be considered within the National Ignition Facility (NIF) and MegaJoule (LMJ)-laser context while Heavy Ion Fusion (HIF) will be focussed on its cluster-extension presently investigated at KEK-Tsukuba.

A certain attention is expected to be also given to recent and alternative MFE initiatives such as Sheromak or Ignitor and sponsored by private companies as well as to meson catalysis in very dense ICF-plasmas.
