概要

Towards the start of LHC Run-3 and the next project the High-Luminosity LHC, various upgrade activities are progressing both on the accelerator complex as well as the experiments. After reviewing the LHC operation in Run 2 (2015 - 2018), try to pick up the key tasks to achieve the target luminosity on the LHC side. The upgrade projects on the experimental side, especially on the ATLAS experiment, will be covered. Some of the efforts are picked up which play important roles to push the frontiers under the high luminosity condition of HL-LHC.
