Applied Research Laboratory

The High Energy Accelerator Research Organization (KEK) Common Core Research Facility (CRC) provides advanced technical support for the smooth execution of various research projects.

In addition to fundamental research on computers, radiation protection, superconductivity and low temperature technology, and precision processing technology, the facility is also engaged in developmental research in advanced related fields.

By making use of the advanced technology, the research and development of computers, network management, supply of liquid helium and other materials, radiation safety management, and machine tools are carried out in this facility. To carry out these developmental and supportive activities, four research centers are established, which are the mainstay of the Institute’s research support activities.

KEK’s scientific research is supported by the development of advanced technologies, such as the development of new detectors and accelerators.
