Overview
The first part of the talk summarize recent studies on the ageing mechanisms and H2 capacity of NEG thin films. On a second part, we present the status of the amorphous carbon (a-C) coating technology for the High Luminosity LHC project, report on the first in-situ deposition in a LHC superconducting quadrupole, that took place during the CERN long shut down 2, and show heat load measurements during the scrubbing run.
