The structure and functionality of materials are closely linked to each other. In the recent years, the researches have led to the evolution of electronic devices that are rapidly becoming smaller and more functional, and the drug design based on the structures of proteins. IMSS has divisions for each research methodology and comprehensive research groups, that is, the Structural Biology Research Center, the Condensed Matter Research Center and the IMSS Detector System Development Team.
