The Institute of Materials Structure Science (IMSS), which is affiliated to KEK acting as an Inter-University Research Institute
Corporation to promote interdisciplinary and complimentary use of four types of quantum beams, synchrotron radiation (SR), neutron, muon and positron, in materials and life sciences research, is seeking an outstanding young scientists for the Muon Science Laboratory (KEK-MSL). The successful candidate will be actively involved in one of the following scientific programs in collaboration with KEK-MSL staff, at the KEK TOKAI-branch.
1) Advanced μSR study on condensed matter science (including magnetism, superconductivity, hydrogen-related solid state physics, etc.)
2) Atomic physics and related sciences using negative muons (muonic atom, muonic X-ray spectroscopy, etc)
3)Development of high intense muon beams and related techniques at J-PARC MUSE
He/she would not necessarily have experience on muon science, but should prove one's expertise and ability in his/her primary field of interest and willingness to undertake the challenge of the muon science.

Accelerator Laboratory of KEK is responsible for design, construction, operation, and improvement of the J-PARC proton accelerators, SuperKEKB collider, Photon Factory accelerators (PF and PF-AR), the electron-positron injector Linac, and R&D of relevant accelerators. It is also promoting extensive research on accelerator technologies for future projects such as next generation light sources and linear colliders, as well as accelerator theory.

The successful candidates will be involved in one of those accelerator projects and be expected to engage in not only R&D but also operation and maintenance work for the corresponding accelerators.

The successful candidate will belong to the Computer Research Center (CRC) and will be Head of Information Security Officers who presides over information security of KEK in cooperation with the administration Bureau.

The successful candidate is expected to take a leading role in operating and improving the ICT security infrastructure and in management of the Computer Security Incident Response Team of KEK. He/she will be required to get a national license for the "High pressure gas" system operation and maintenance, soon after his/her successful position started at KEK.
