Job Description
The Institute of Materials Structure Science (IMSS), which is affiliated to KEK acting as an Inter-University Research Institute Corporation to promote interdisciplinary and complimentary use of four types of quantum beams, synchrotron radiation (SR), neutron, muon and positron, in materials and life sciences research, is seeking an outstanding scientist for the Muon Science Laboratory (KEK-MSL). The successful candidate will be responsible for the Inter-University Research Program Using Muon conducted at J-PARC MUSE Facility at the KEK TOKAI-branch and for the safe and stable operation as well as improvement of the muon instruments. Moreover, he or she is expected to lead muon science by conducting cutting-edge research in the field of materials science. He or she is also expected to not only foster young scientists but also to contribute to the future muon source under prospects for the long range future of the IMSS, KEK. The workplace is KEK Tokai campus.
