The mechanical Engineering Center(MEC) in the Applied Research Laboratory(ARL) has been supporting science programs at KEK by providing mechanical engineering and manufacturing experts. MEC conducts several R&D projects on mechanical engineering common to physics and accelerator science.
MEC has job shops equipped with approximately 90 machine tools and supports the manufacturing of machine parts for insistutes and laboratories at KEK.
