# Guidelines for Nuclear and Particle Physics Experiments
Guidelines for Nuclear and Particle Physics Experiments
at the J-PARC 50 GeV Proton Synchrotron

The 50-GeV proton synchrotron beam at J-PARC is scheduled to be extracted to the Hadron Hall in December 2008 followed by the fast extraction to the neutrino production in the next spring. Secondary beams in the Hadron Hall will be available in 2009 with certain qualities.

Experimental PROPOSALS for 'day 1" as well as for the early stage of the "Phase-1" Hadron Hall have already been called for in 2005 with the deadline of April 2006, and submitted proposals were evaluated in the first PROGRAM ADVISORY COMMITTEE meeting held from June 30 to July 2, 2006.
      (http://j-parc.jp/ NuclPart/PACmeeting_0606_e.html)

Additional proposals with large scientific merit and emergency, can be, however, submitted at any time for PAC evaluation.
Necessary Information to be included in the Proposal
The following items must be included in the document.

1)

Name of the proposal, collaborating institutions and names of experimentalists, spokesperson(s) and/or contact person.

2)

Scientific goal(s) and scientific merits, experimental method(s), urgency, expected manpower, etc.

3)

If the proposal is for a spectrometer installation, a list of anticipated experimental programs that will be reviewed later must be described.

4)

Desired time schedule and detector cost estimate.

5)

Contributions from the collaboration, including the usage of existing detectors and/or other equipment/devices.

6)

Specific requests, if any, to the J-PARC facility.

7)

Other useful information, such as commitments to other experiments, etc.
