Concerning the use of texts, drawings, imagery, pictures, and other materials in the KEK Image Archive (KEK Image Archive Materials), the copyright (or the intellectual property right) of all of the KEK Image Archive Materials belongs to KEK unless explicitly specified otherwise.

KEK permits the use of the KEK Image Archive Materials if the purpose of the use is approved as for education, public relations, or information providing, or if the use is within the scope of relevant laws. In such cases, insertion of credits* is required for used KEK Image Archive Materials.

The consent of a certain individual is required for the use of some of imagery or pictures belonging to KEK, if the individual can be identified by the imagery or pictures, for example photos of a physicist, in order to protect the right of that person. KEK Image Archive Materials cannot be used for commercial purposes, such as for advertisement, providing services, publication, and sales. However, with the prior consent of the Public Relations Office of KEK, KEK Image Archive Materials can be used for souvenirs and other commemorative goods. In such cases, KEK neither supports/recommends any specific products of souvenirs or commemorative goods, nor officially approve any of them.
