Institute of Materials Structure Science

The Institute of Materials Structure Science (IMSS), which is affiliated to KEK acting as an Inter-University Research Institute
Corporation to promote interdisciplinary and complimentary use of four types of quantum beams, synchrotron radiation (SR), neutron, muon and positron, in materials and life sciences research, is seeking an outstanding scientists for the Muon Science Laboratory (KEK-MSL).
The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and stable operation of the muon source as well as muon beamlines at the KEK TOKAI-branch. Moreover, he or she is expected to lead muon science to induce an epoch-making progress, in particular, realization of the practical use of the ultra slow muons and multiple extension of the negative muon application in collaboration with with KEK. He or she is also expected to not only foster young scientists but also realize the future muon source. He or she is also expected to have provision for the long range future of the IMSS.
